The Link Charitable Trust

We interviewed Hannah Moloney from The Link Charitable Trust, learn about their organisation, and their experience in the Palace Hub below!

Can you tell me about your organisation?

The Link Charitable Trust is a charity supporting children, young people, families and adults with emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties - there is something for everyone! We provide one-to-one emotional support, as well as groups promoting wellbeing and overcoming difficulties, where people can come together and share their difficulties, we provide them with the tools to deal with the things life throws at them. We have also recently opened our new drop-in ‘living room’ in the front of the Palace Hub, so that people can simply walk by and pop in!

What brought you to the Palace Hub?

We were drawn to the Palace Hub due to the overall appearance of the building, it appeals more to the youth, especially with the building being contemporary. The view from inside the building is fantastic, it brings calmness to those experiencing emotional difficulty, as they can look out to the seafront! We also loved the design of the rooms and the flooring they use, we were previously located in a different building which did not meet all of our requirements. In the rooms that we occupy, they use hard floors which is perfect for group dance and arts & crafts, the lift also makes the building accessible to all our clients.

What do you enjoy most about working here at the Palace Hub?

Again, the sea view is fantastic, there’s nothing better than working in an office with that view. The staff are lovely, specifically, the reception staff are very warm and welcoming to all our clients, which helps to make them feel at ease when they visit our rooms. It’s a great community here, it’s brilliant to have so many different organisations here, of all types and sizes, everyone looks out for one another, we’ve had businesses refer clients towards us, and we can refer our clients to other businesses in the building, it’s a win-win!

What do you love most about Redcar and Cleveland?

Just like the Palace Hub, I do feel that Redcar has a great community feel to it, the residents do genuinely care for each other and there is a great togetherness; we receive donations to our food bank through the community too. The sea is brilliant too, and you’ve got Saltburn, Loftus, and Skinningrove, all within such a close proximity of one another.
