Business Redcar | Cleveland

Business Redcar Cleveland will be there on the day to help local firms with services such as: information on vacant sites and property, funding, planning and local regulatory advice.

The Business Redcar Cleveland Start-up Advisor, Ainsley Mullen, will also be available for appointments with residents considering self-employment and for early stage businesses looking for advice.

Climate Change (energy efficiency)

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council’s Climate Change Team will be attending to provide information on business energy efficiency and provide guidance about what businesses can do to reduce their ongoing energy usage at this time.

Employment Hub

Redcar and Cleveland Training and Employment Hubs offers bespoke support package to help employers fill vacancies whether this is a single role or an entire work force. Services include marketing, sifting applicants, arranging interviews, providing venues to meet potential applicants in groups or one to one interviews and this includes apprentices, traineeships and work trials.

We have funding to organise training events prior to interviews to ensure applicants have some of the vocational skills or trade tickets needed for the post. We offer support to resident with barriers to employment, this could be travel to work, PPE or renewing trade tickets.

Procurement & Commissioning

Business Enterprise Fund

The Business Enterprise Fund (BEF) is a responsible finance provider that helps businesses throughout the North to thrive and grow. It offers flexible unsecured loans from £500 to £250,000 to start-ups and growing businesses in all sectors. BEF is an official delivery partner of the Start Up Loans Company and Fund manager for the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund in Tees Valley & Yorkshire.

CITB

CITB – Provides grants and funding for construction employers. Our grants support registered employers who provide day to day training for their workforce. The grants contribute to the cost of training and qualifying your workforce in construction-related subjects – Short course grants, Qualification grants and Apprenticeships grants.

The Skills & Traning fund helps to train your team, build the skills your business needs to achieve its goals and you can claim up to £25.000. Developing skills develops the business. The CITB Levy is used to support construction employers to make sure the industry has the skilled workforce it needs.

Debt finance from the North Powerhouse Investment Fund provides loans from £100,000 to £750,000 to help businesses meet their growth potential. LARCH stands for Local Access Redcar & Cleveland and Hartlepool and is a  place-based approach to working with charities and social enterprises who are vital in helping tackle local issues, strengthening communities, whilst contributing to resilient and inclusive local economies.

The LARCH programme is a £4 million investment and was created to develop and promote a culture of Social Enterprise across Redcar & Cleveland and Hartlepool by nurturing and encouraging the creation and growth of social enterprises.

NEPIC is an industry led membership organisation for the NE process industry and related supply chain. The NEPIC team have real industry knowledge and experience of the process (chemical, pharmaceutical and clean energy) sector. Northstar

Who its for: Not for profit, social enterprises, voluntary and charitable organisations, who are currently trading in the North East.

The organisation must have a social goal which covers either, Young Offender Rehabilitation, Mental Health support, Regeneration of deprived communities, Health and Social Care or support towards the reduction of, unemployment, homelessness, poverty & debt. What’s available: A 10.2m fund pot providing repayable loan finance between 100k – 1m.
The fund has until 2024 to finalise investment agreements.

The fund is completely flexible and bespoke to the needs of the business.
We’ve covered asset finance, capital expenditure, core cashflow support, specialist growth projects inc consultancy, marketing, websites, there is no finite list, we’re happy to consider anything in line with the social goals.

RCVDA
