Business Surgery – Business Support Providers

Below is the list of support providers that will be available to have appointments with at this year’s Business Surgery. If you are not sure about which partner to speak to, you can book an appointment to speak with us on the day and we will signpost you to the appropriate partners if available. Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council’s Corporate Procurement Team will be there to provide information on public sector procurement processes, including where to find public sector contract opportunities, how to access and register on the Council’s e- procurement system and how to access free procurement training opportunities.  The representative on the day will be Hayden Bowman.

Business Redcar Cleveland will be there on the day to help local firms with services such as: information on vacant sites and property, funding, planning and local regulatory advice.

The Business Redcar Cleveland Enterprise Lead, Ainsley Mullen, will also be available for appointments with residents considering self-employment and for early stage businesses looking for advice.

Rediscover Redcar is a dedicated resource to liaise with businesses, investors, landlords and residents informing them of the plans and developments within the Town Deal Programme.

The service also administers support to businesses, seeks to improve the visitor experience and co-ordinate and support events and activities.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council’s Climate Change Team will be attending to provide information on business energy efficiency and provide guidance about what businesses can do to reduce their ongoing energy usage at this time.

Within the Council’s Environment Support and Improvement Team, Income & Funding Officer Jo Whistler can offer support to our community groups or local not for profit organisations by assisting with the development of external bids for projects with a clear vision associated with environmental themes based in Redcar & Cleveland.

Redcar & Cleveland Training and Employment Hub work in partnership with residents, employers, training providers and Jobcentre Plus to remove barriers and move people into work. CITB – Provides grants and funding for construction employers. Our grants support registered employers who provide day to day training for their workforce. The grants contribute to the cost of training and qualifying your workforce in construction-related subjects – Short course grants, Qualification grants and Apprenticeships grants.

Redcar & Cleveland College offer training and apprenticeship support to industry through academic and bespoke courses.
