SeAH Wind

Set to create 750 direct jobs once complete, SeAH Wind's £300m project involves the development of an offshore wind factory producing monopiles that form the foundations of offshore wind turbine construction.

Net Zero Teesside Power

NZT Power, operated by BP will be the first fully-integrated gas-fired power and carbon capture station in the world and is key to the plans to make Teesside the UK's first decarbonised industrial cluster.

EDF Tees Green Hydrogen

A pioneering project, Tees Green Hydrogen will be using green electricity from Teesside Offshore Wind Farm along with a new solar farm which EDF Renewables UK intends to construct near Redcar.

Circular Fuels Ltd

A pioneering £150m project waste to renewable gas facility that is set to create 50 direct jobs once operational. Circular Fuels will take non-recyclable residual waste from households and industry and convert it into a safe, cost-effective and clean-burning fuel.

Projects on Wilton International

Tees Valley Lithium

Set to create 250 direct jobs, Tees Valley Lithium intends to construct the UK's first lithium hydroxide plant, at Wilton International. The plant will support the processing of chemical elements used in batteries for electric vehicles (EVS).

Whitetail Clean Energy

Whitetail Clean Energy is poised to become the UK's first 300MW Net Zero Power station based on Teesside. Anticipated to create 200 direct and indirect jobs during operation, the plant will generate approximately 300MW of clean power, while capturing and storing its carbon emissions in secure geological formations deep under the North Sea.

Sembcorp Battery Energy Storage

Development of Sembcorp's battery system up to 360MW (Europe's largest) to expand its portfolio, as well as to enable more renewable energy capacity to be integrated into the UK grid network for security and decarbonisation.

SABIC Green Energy Project

An £850m new green energy project estimated to create 300 jobs, SABIC have agreed the funding to restart its hydrocarbon cracker at Wilton and convert it to run on hydrogen, a greener source of energy.

Peak Resources

Peak Resources's £112m minerals processing plant will produce materials used in the manufacture of powerful magnets, which will ultimately be placed in items including wind turbines, electric vehicles and renewable energy technologies. 130 jobs are expected to be created.

Projects on Teesport

Tees Renewable Energy Plant

Anticipated to create 100 direct jobs when operational, Tees REP, a £650m investment from MGT Teesside, is a 299MW biomass-powered, combined heat and power (CHP) plant.

BP Hydrogen Projects

BP Blue Hydrogen (H2Teesside)

H2Teesside is bp’s proposed world-scale hydrogen project that aims to produce 1GW of CCUS-enabled blue hydrogen and start-up in 2027. It will capture, and send for storage, up to 2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year via the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP).

BP Green Hydrogen (Hygreen Teesside)

Hygreen Teesside will be Britain's largest green hydrogen project, that will produce fuel for hydrogen-powered vehicles – at 60MW of electrolyser capacity, that's enough zero-carbon hydrogen to fuel 1,300 green lorries, by 2025.

Anglo American - Woodsmith Mine

Anglo American's £3.2 billion investment in the Woodsmith Project involves mining the mineral polyhalite from two 1.6km deep mine shafts at Woodsmith mine near Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast. The polyhalite ore is then transported along a 37km tunnel to a processing facility at Wilton International, and the finished product, a low carbon environmentally friendly 'POLY4' fertiliser, is then exported via Teesport.

Redcar Energy Centre

Redcar Energy Centre, a partnership between Low Carbon Ltd and PMAC Energy Ltd, is a low carbon waste to energy centre. It's expected to divert between 350,000 tonnes and 450,000 tonnes of waste per year away from UK landfill. Close to 50MW of low carbon electricity would be produced for the local grid – enough to power more than 100,000 homes. 100 full-time jobs are expected to be created once operational.
