ReNew ELP comes to Wilton International

ReNew ELP is at the forefront of a new era in chemical recycling. The company is bringing a new technology to the UK that will chemically recycle end-of-life plastics into valuable oils and petrochemicals and will shortly start construction of its first commercial scale plant on Wilton International. The unique Catalytic Hydrothermal Reactor (Cat-HTR) technology uses water to break down plastic polymers and create new hydrocarbon molecules. The process achieves in just 20 minutes what it takes nature 200 million years and has the potential to make a major contribution to tackling the global issue of end-of-life plastic waste disposal.

The development of the initial plant on Wilton is anticipated to create up to 30 jobs, including 24/7 operatives. In addition to these direct employment opportunities, there will also be opportunities for engineering firms in the local area, with an estimated 100+ jobs likely to be created during the construction phase. The local and regional supply chain will also benefit, for example during maintenance and shutdown periods.
