Whether through flexible recruitment, supportive workplace practices, or simply understanding the unique needs of those who serve or have served, your business can make a meaningful difference. Below are some of the steps you can take.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sign the Armed Forces Covenant<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>The Armed Forces Covenant is a voluntary pledge. A pledge which promises that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, including the bereaved, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy, and society they serve with their lives.<\/p>\n<p>Its two principles are recognising the unique obligations of and the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces. Its two principles are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, those who have served in the past, and their families, should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.<br \/><br \/><\/li>\n<li>Special consideration is appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given the most, such as the injured and the bereaved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Businesses and charitable organisations who wish to demonstrate their support for the armed forces community can sign the covenant.
