DESCRIPTION:Langbaurgh Loop\nMayor of Redcar & Cleveland’s Charity Langbaurgh Loop Walk\nStarting Point: Cat Nab Fish Bar forecourt\nStart Time: 6am\, walkers must not leave the start area before then.\nFinish Time: 9pm at the latest\nWalkers wishing to finish in reasonable light must do so by 9pm and will therefore have to average 2.5 miles per hour.\nSunset is 8pm. Dusk is 8.40. From Hazel Grove bottom there is lighting along the Promenade.\nWalkers unable to maintain this rate and arrive in daylight should consider the East Loop on this day. \nA walk-through History\, the Langbaugh Loop takes the walker through the very best of scenery and natural beauty of the area\, with many reminders of its long history.\nThe Langbaugh Loop is an open challenge long distance walk of 38 miles\, conceived in 1986 by Phillip Thomson and Captain Mike Sellars to encourage access to many outstanding features of this diverse area of coast and countryside and acquiring its name from the old Wapentake.\nThe Loop has a circular route\, encompassing spectacular scenery\, including sandy coastal paths\, the highest cliff edges in the country\, rich agricultural land\, high rugged moors thick with heather\, dense pine forests and ancient woods. It covers an area rich in historical interest\, from bronze and iron age burial mounds\, sites of Roman lookout posts\, Viking founded villages\, Norman strongholds and down through the ages of industrial Teesside to the town of Saltburn.\nThe Loop is designed for walkers of varying abilities\, but all should be relatively fit and adept at map reading.\nThe Mayor of Redcar & Cleveland will be raising funds on this day to contribute to his chosen charities.\nThis is an opportunity for other walkers to raise funds for their nominated charity\, even by just walking the first section. \nPreparation\nAll walkers are advised to start well prepared. \nConduct\nThe Loop has been designed for enjoyment of walking and is not a race.\nPlease observe the rules of the countryside and respect the property of landowners. Leave no litter\, close all gates and use stiles if provided. \nSafety\nPlease take care\, especially along the cliff paths and hill areas.\nThe Loop creators accept no responsibility for any injury or damage to property.\nAll walkers starting the walk must accept that safety is their own responsibility.\nNo one should attempt a long-distance walk if not physically prepared. \nConsider walking parts of the route in advance\, which you may not be familiar with.\nEnsure that someone is aware of your intention to be walking on the day\, and a rough guide to where you should be at any time.\nMake sure your mobile phone number is provided.\nBe prepared to stop or turn back if the weather is against you. \nCheck out the weather on the day.\nA useful web site for information for walkers is Adventure Smart \nRoute Marking\nAs far as possible the route has been way-marked to assist you. \nFirst Aid Information \nAll walkers should take adequate precaution for their own safety.\nConsideration should be given to appropriate clothing\, waterproof and windproof for staying warm and dry\, and appropriate footwear for the varying terrain.\nPlease consider taking a safety kit\, which could include;\nFirst Aid kit\, Map and Compass\, Whistle\, Mobile Phone (although connection may not always be possible)\, Head torch. \nCompletion Certificates \nWill be presented to all walkers completing either the whole Loop or the East Loop or Section 1. \nCheck Points\nThere are no Check Points on this day as the walk is an informal opportunity to complete either the Full Loop\, East Loop\, or Section 1 on the same day as the Mayor of Redcar & Cleveland is walking. \nBadges/Car Stickers\nLoop Badges and Loop Car Stickers are available for purchase on the day or subsequently. \nRoute\nPlease follow the route described in the Loop brochure.\nMake sure you follow the start section correctly by taking the steps behind the Ship Inn at Saltburn. Take the cliff path out of Skinningrove. Go up Roseberry Topping and follow the indicated route down to Newton Under Roseberry as the National Trust is undertaking a major refurbishment currently. Follow the route over Beacon Moor before entering Errington Wood. \nRefreshment\nAdequate provision for sustenance during the walk should be considered.\nYou may have a support team who can meet you at scheduled crossing points to your choice. \nRegistration\nAlthough this is not a formal organised walk\, in order for Completion Certificates to be provided\, details of those walkers intending to raise funds for their charity on the day\, either by walking the Full Loop\, the East Loop or Section 1\, should be left with Saltburn Library. \nA brief form for completion is available on request\, in person at Saltburn Library or by emailing saltburnlibrary@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk \nCompletion of Registration can be undertaken from a list opening on Monday 2nd March and closing on Friday 27th March. \nThanks\nThanks are extended to\nSaltburn Library staff and Redcar & Cleveland Visitor Destination team.\nCat Nab Fish Bar for provided bottled water at the commencement of the walk and vouchers for Fish and Chips to all who complete the East or Full Loop.

The concert brings together the Tees Valley Youth Choir\, its Training Choir\, and the adult chamber ensemble Erimus Singers\, all performing in support of Guisborough Bridge Association\, a local charity providing vital community support across the town.\nAudiences will enjoy a rich programme of Christmas music including works by John Rutter\, Bob Chilcott\, and Benjamin Britten\, alongside contemporary seasonal favourites. With an intergenerational group of singers taking part across the choirs\, the event promises soaring harmonies\, traditional carols\, and uplifting Christmas spirit. \nTees Valley Youth Choir\, run by Tees Valley Music Service\, is the region’s flagship choir for young people aged 11–18\, supported by its feeder ensemble\, the Training Choir (ages 7–11). DESCRIPTION:D-Day was the successful allied invasion of the beaches of Normandy on 6 June 1944. The Normandy landings made up the largest seaborne invasion in history and played a crucial role in liberating Western Europe from Nazi occupation. \nWe would be delighted if you could come along to commemorate D-DAY 80th Anniversary (Operation OVERLOAD).\nThe British Legion and veterans will be reconstructing the D-Day landing (smaller scale) on Redcar beach. There will be fishing boats and military vehicles creating a war scene with flares and pyrotechnics.\nA parade will set off at 10.30am from Redcar Beach. The Parade will be led by the Standard Bearers\, Veterans and any-one else who wishes to take part on the day.\nThere will be stalls\, memorabilia\, military vehicles\, and goods for sale.\nAdults and Children are encouraged to dress up!

We can’t wait to see you all there! \nWe will be holding tester sessions for you to get involved in including\, Yoga\, Tai Chi\, Fitness\, Breath Work\, Journaling\, Circus Skills alongside face painting\, story and art corner and many many more fun activities for children to participate in. \nLocal stall holders will be coming to sell their products and we will also have stands for local services (charities\, CICs etc) who offer wellbeing services in the area. We will also have food trucks in attendance and local musicians.
