Then discover the enchantment beneath the waves in The Little Mermaid’s Underwater Kingdom and much more. With each room beautifully dressed to capture the spirit of these much-loved stories\, this year’s Christmas experience invites visitors of all ages to explore\, imagine and rediscover the magic of the season.\nStop by the second-hand bookshop for a winter read and enjoy seasonal food and hot drinks from the café (last orders at 3pm).\nThe decorated hall is open every Friday – Monday\, from Friday 27 November until Wednesday 23 December\, 10.30am – 4pm\, with last entry to the house at 2.45pm and the closes at 3.30pm. Normal admission applies to visit Ormesby Hall\, house\, garden and café.

SUMMARY:Loftus Poultry Run
DESCRIPTION:Almost 400 runners will run this multi terrain festive race that has built up a reputation as one of the friendliest and most fun events in the North East racing calendar. \nThe run is approximately 7 miles along country lanes\, bridleways and footpaths. The course is generally ascending for the first half of the race\, and is then an exhilirating downhill run to the finish. Sturdy trainers or trail shoes are recommended – there is too much road to suggest fell shoes (unless there is heavy snow as in 2009). \nWith costumes\, a brass band and lots of camaraderie the Poultry Run is a great way to get your festive holiday off to a flying start. Who knows\, with some generous prizes of Christmas fayre – including the eponymous poultry – it could be a handy way to stock your larder!
