DESCRIPTION:Acle Early Medieval Society will be taking over the grounds of Kirkleatham Museum with a bustling living history encampment and displays of combat . \nWithin the immersive encampment costumed reenactors will be available to talk about and show heritage crafts from the Anglo-Saxon period\, including spinning\, weaving and textile production\, embroidery and naal binding\, as well as demonstrations of cooking\, brewing and baking and bee keeping.  Visit our fur trader from far away shores and talk to our warriors who will be showing the weapons of the period and how they were used.  You can cheer on your favourite warrior as they pit their skills against each other. \nChildren and adults alike can have a go at striking their own coin or making a bracelet with a lucet.  There will be games to join in with and children’s swords and shields to play freely with during the day. \nSome activities have a small charge.

Visitors with access needs should enter the event via Cat Nab car park where blue badge spaces are available. The paths around the route are tarmac and there is step free access. However\, please note that some sections of path are quite steep and assistance may be required. There will be staff available to help visitors. \nTickets are available to book below\, Adults are £2 and children are free but need a ticket. Only assistance dogs are allowed on site during the event. \nYou can book to arrive at 6pm\, 7pm or 8pm each night. 6pm is our twilight slot so it’s suitable for younger children to arrive just as it’s getting dark. DESCRIPTION:Enter a world of wonder as the amazing Terceredix Luminarium takes up residence in the grounds of Kirkleatham Museum. Be transported to a place of luminescent light and saturated colour in this incredible immersive installation. Explore the dazzling maze of winding paths and soaring domes. Get lost in a magical labyrinth of saturated light tunnels. Marvel as the vivid reflections of liquid colour spill across the curved walls. \nEach visitor has their own way of exploring the structure – some like to see every twist and turn; others like to find a quiet spot and let the luminarium work its magic as it soothes\, calms and enchants. We encourage you to explore in your own way! \nThere are five luminaria touring the world at any one time and since 1992 more than 3 million visitors in over 40 countries have been welcomed into Architects of Air’s monumental structures. The Terceredix is the newest addition to these incredible structures and we are delighted to bring this to Redcar – particularly as the inventor of this and all Luminaria Alan Parkinson was born and brought up in Darlington. \nChildren under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. \n11am – 6pm August 24 – 27\, 2023. \n\n		\n		\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n \n
