DESCRIPTION:A series of special activities will be held in Redcar and Cleveland to mark this year’s Armed Forces Day. \nTaking place on Saturday 24 June\, the day will officially open at 10.15am with a parade of military personnel\, both past and present\, on Redcar High Street. \nEntertainment has been organised throughout the day for people of all ages\, with music and singers\, cadet drill displays\, and children’s activities such as a climbing wall and mobile cave. \nWe are especially delighted to introduce Whizz Bangs/Sounds of the Battlefield this year who are a North East based re-enactment group covering British and American World War 2 era. There will be numerous static displays of weapons and military vehicles. A firing demonstration and informative talk of various infantry weapons. Pistols\, rifles\, machine guns and mortars etc. The display lasts approximately 30 minutes. There will be very loud bangs\, firing and smoke. \nThe iconic Lancaster Bomber will be seen in the skies for a fly past during the afternoon\, and military memorabilia will be on display. Refreshments will be on offer\, and local charities and groups will have stalls along the High Street. The event\, which concludes at 3.30pm\, is organised by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council\, in partnership with Royal British Legion Redcar Branch and Rotary Club \nEvent Programme: \n10.15am – Official Opening: Parade on Redcar High Street from Moore Street to near the Town Clock. Introduction and welcome by Mr Eric Howden BEM\, Chairman of Redcar Branch Royal British Legion. \n10.25am – Raising of the Colours: Cadets of TS Zetland \n10.35am – Welcome address by the Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland. The Last Post is sounded. The Two Minute Silence is observed. Reveille is sounded. Three cheers for His Majesty The King Charles III followed by the National Anthem \n10.45am – Service of Thanksgiving\, opening prayer and blessing from Revd Rebecca Haughty from the Parish of Coatham and Dormanstown. \n11am – Parade: March Off the High Street \n11.05am – Locals Vocal Choir \n11.35am – Imaginarium Dance Theatre performing near Iceland \n12noon – Whizz Bangs Sounds of the Battlefield. A Live Firing display. Prepare for loud bangs and booms! \n12.35pm – Cadet Demonstrations and Standard Bearer Drill Competition between Sea Cadets from TS Zetland and 2394 Sqn Royal Air Force Cadets. \n1.05pm – The Lipsticks Vintage Trio \n2pm – Canny Yatton Ukes \n2.30pm – Result of the Drill and Best Dressed Window Competition \n2.40pm – Dance Off: Join the cadets on the dance floor. \n3pm – Marske Brass Band \n3.49pm – The Iconic Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be seen in the skies on a Fly Past. \n3.50pm – Evening Colours at the Town Clock: A farewell and safe journey home. \nAll events will be held near the town clock unless otherwise stated.

(PG – 1hr 28min) \nFollow Pirate Captain as he sets out on a mission to defeat his rivals Black Bellamy and Cutlass Liz for the Pirate of the year Award. The quest takes Captain and his crew from the shores of Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London. \nWhilst we are hoping for glorious sunshine please come prepared for the Great British weather\, we will be providing a small number of deck chairs\, but we do recommend you bring your own throne. \nThe Coronation ceremony timings are still to be confirmed so please remember to check back for confirmed timings.

DESCRIPTION:Redcar Illumination Parade 2021\n				\n			\n				\n			\n				\n				Redcar Light Switch On\n				\n			\n				\n			\n				\n				Redcar Illumination Parade 2021\n				\n		\n\n  \nThe magical season of Christmas kicks off in spectacular style in Redcar Town Centre and we hope you will join us in what will be an evening of stunning visual displays\, performance\, music\, lights\, and all-around joy! \nFollowing on from last year’s Illumination Parade\, we are bringing a creative spectacle to the town of Redcar with representatives from schools and community groups throughout the borough as we Deck the Shores! \nOver 200 participants will throng the streets with artwork created with professional artists\, including lanterns costumes and exciting visual spectacles that will light up the route from the Civic Centre to Redcar Town Clock. \nThe parade will also be decked with professional performers\, with the sights\, sounds and smells of everything festive whilst being entertained by outstanding musical artists Sisi as well as Groove Inc for a little bit of soul\, funk\, and Christmas classics\, supported by the emerging talents of Tuned In’s young people. \nThe ‘Deck the Shores’ Illumination Parade will begin at 4pm from the Civic Centre\, so wrap up warm and follow the crowds on a truly inspiring route of party. \nAnd if that wasn’t enough\, the big button will be pressed by Three Redcar Christmas Stars – three community champions nominated by you for their acts of kindness over the past year – along with the Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland. \n

SUMMARY:A Fairy-tale Christmas at Ormesby Hall
DESCRIPTION:  \nGet into the festive spirit with Christmas lights\, decorations\, and seasonal treats at Ormesby Hall. \nThe scene is set for one and all for a panto themed Christmas at Ormesby Hall. The rooms will be adorned with sparkling lights\, pantomime inspired decorations and the fresh sweet smell of winter foliage from the garden. \nFrom the moment you arrive you will enter a theatrical atmosphere in the house\, from bright colours\, greenery and of course Christmas trees and decorations from some of the most beloved pantomimes\, such as Peter Pan and Snow White. \nAn admission ticket for the house and garden is needed to visit and enjoy this activity\, with free admission for National Trust members and under 5s. \n Fridays – Mondays from the 25th November and also Tuesday 20\, Wednesday 21 & Thursday 22 December.

DESCRIPTION:Come along to Flatts Lane Visitor Centre and get crafty this half term. \nTuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th October 2022\, 12pm – 3pm  \nWe will be winding our colourful wool around some wooden sticks to make a lovely colourful decoration to brighten up your home.
