DESCRIPTION:Redcar Kite Festival returns to the skies above Majuba Beach\, and there is so much going on! \nThe tide times this year mean the kites will be in the sky from 12 noon to 6pm and\, with even more beach arenas\, the festival will be bigger than ever with even more kites in the sky flown by pilots from Northern Kite Group. \nLook out for: \nGiant inflatable kites including some larger-than-life cartoon characters \nKite ballet to music \nStunt kites \nRainbow Deltas – chance for children to fly their own kites. \nThere will be two days of free workshops in the Marquees-by-the-Sea including kite making workshops; fossils; rock pool schools; printmaking and more. \nThe Stories by the Shore tent will celebrate the National Literary Trust’s Year of Reading with some exciting storytelling sessions with Lady Lemon Top\, Captain Plim and his fishy first mate Sole and many others.  And there will be some amazing walkabout performers and musicians including local favourites Whippet Up. \nThe main BBC Tees music stage features a fantastic line up of local and regional talent and acoustic performers will also be performing on the bandstand. \nThere are dozens of street food and drink stalls serving up everything from parmos to cheese toasties\, gourmet burgers to hog roast; wood-fired pizza to Vietnamese; fried chicken to Indian Street Food; Korean corndogs to crepes; craft beers to cocktails and loaded fries to gyozas and bao buns.  Many of these will also be at Majuba Street Market on the eve of Kite Festival. \nOn site face paint\, henna and glitter bars will offer glitzy festival makeovers and vintage fairground rides bring fun for all the family. \nNew for 2026\, they’re bringing you dedicated Facebook and Instagram pages. DESCRIPTION:Redcar & Cleveland Armed Forces Day \nRedcar & Cleveland Armed Forces Day 2026\, organised by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council in partnership with Royal British Legion Redcar Branch and Redcar Rotary Club\, will take place Saturday June 27th\, on High Street\, Redcar – in the area of the King Edward VII Memorial Clock. \nThe event will commence at 10.15am with a parade of military personnel\, both past and present\, marching along the High Street – this will be followed by the official opening ceremony and the Raising of the Colours. \nThere will be entertainment throughout the day with musicians and singers\, military pipes and drums\, cadet drill displays and competition\, and children’s activities. \nThe High Street will have a range of stalls hosted by both military and local civilian charities and\, subject to weather and availability\, the highlight of the day will be a military aircraft flypast in the skies over the town. (TBC) \nThis will be a fun-packed event for all ages and refreshments will be available throughout the day. \nThe event will finish at 4pm\, following the Evening Colours ceremony at 3.30pm. \nArmed Forces Day is the town’s chance to show its appreciation for our Armed Forces – past\, present\, and future. \nWe value your support and we look forward to seeing you there.

Expect all the favourite highlights from last year—the big bubble foam finale\, party animal woodland disco\, interactive chalk walk\, and fantastical walkabout characters—alongside an incredible line‑up of shows suitable for all ages. \nFestival Highlights: \n\nDisorder of Knights – Tit for Tat. Thrilling juggling\, comedy\, and theatrical circus.  And fire.  Lots of fire!\nUp in the Sky – Autin Dance. Commissioned by Between the Tides and TeesDance\, this is a joyful\, high-impact aerial show performed on a striking 7-metre circular structure. Peer high up into the sky as six performers soar\, spin and fly through a heartwarming story of belonging\, adventure and home.\nHydro Punk – Artizani. Taps\, valves\, pipes\, pumps\, sprays\, and leaks come together to form a chaotic\, yet playful water machine full of games and puzzles.\nThe Ugly Bug Wingding – Enter Edem. A mesmerising jubilee for your eyes and ears! Enter a magical miniature world of enticing insects and colourful creatures on their way to an un-bee-lievable party!\nLuminarium – Architects of Air. A welcome return for this incredible light filled inflatable experience.\nJoin the party animals forest take over – with a silent woodland disco\, costumes to wear and a fabulous musical experience.\nDive into The Big Bubble Bash.
