DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to the next exhibition at The Heritage Gallery at Cargo Fleet: The Art of Autonomous Serenity by Carol Shaw. \nThe exhibition will be open with free admission\, Monday – Friday\, 8.30am – 3pm\, with an opening evening from 5pm – 7pm on Thursday 14th September. \nThe opening offers a great opportunity to meet Carol over drinks & nibbles and ask any questions about the work on display. \nCarol says: \n“I have lived in the North East of England all my life and the diverse landscape has had a profound impact on my art. \nI love painting wildlife and the local area has offered a wide range of animal life to paint and study; from the wild Yorkshire moors with its hares\, to the foxes in Guisborough walkways\, right down to the coastal beach donkeys. They are all my go to subjects. \nI am a qualified art teacher and I have been lucky to work with children and develop their artistic skills. I am now concentrating on my own art and have been enjoying developing different media as I concentrate on my own art practice. \nAs a “people watcher”\, I enjoy the interaction between people\, especially in social environments\, hence my cafe paintings. I strive to achieve the emotional connection between people and their pets through my paintings trying to capture emotion and the bond between.” \nWe do hope you can make it to the opening and look forward to seeing you there.

DESCRIPTION:Marking the 12th anniversary of The Heritage Gallery and the Cargo Fleet Offices\, when it was renovated and relaunched on 8th June 2011\, this exhibition promises to be an intriguing and diverse exhibition. \nThe Random Stitchers of Cleveland exists to promote and practise the use of stitch and textiles\, producing pieces of art using a wide range of materials and techniques\, from simple to sophisticated. The name Random Stitchers reflects the diverse nature of embroidery\, stitch and textile art\, which has changed greatly over the years and is creative and exciting.\nThe exhibition “A Grand Day (Out)” is inspired by members’ memorable days over the past years. This could range from simple everyday pleasures to grandiose days out. \nThe opening offers a great opportunity to meet some of the members and ask any questions you may have about the work on display over drinks and nibbles\, provided by Python Properties via Iron Co Coffee House.

SUMMARY:'Eyes of the Heart' - A Photographic Journey
DESCRIPTION:Celine Alexander-Brown’s photography gallery ‘Eye of the Heart’ is coming to the Cargo Fleet Heritage Gallery. \nCeline’s journey began with flowers and nature\, including macro photography and focus stacking\, seeing the minuscule detail and miracle of each single flower. This in turn\, because of the beauty of nature\, drew her deeper and led her to the spiritual beauty of churches and cathedrals. \nThe next part of Celine’s journey led her to beauty of a different kind\, hidden in the slums and streets of Kolkata\, Celine took some fascinating photographs\, capturing moments of time within the community of Kolkata\, some of which form part of this exhibition. \nAnd then Lockdown arrived… isolated and at home\, Celine took part in a book project involving members of the RPS Contemporary North group about what 2020 meant to her. \nOnce lockdown had lifted\, Celine started to venture out and went onto publishing two books – ‘Restless Waters’\, which are poems/prayers and reflections of her journey over the past 20 years and also – ‘Eyes of the Heart’\, a photobook of the images she took during her time in Kolkata. \nCeline had now entered a new phase of her photographic journey interpreting things creatively using Photoshop and intentional camera movement\, returning once again to nature\, countryside and seaside. \nWe do hope you can make it to the opening\, which offers a great opportunity to meet Celine over drinks & nibbles and ask any questions you may have about the work on display. \nPrivate viewing: Thursday 30th March 2023\, 5pm – 7pm

The exciting new trail celebrates the release of the brilliantly funny new children’s book Montgomery Bonbon: Murder at the Museum written by comedian Alasdair Beckett-King\, with illustrations by Claire Powell. \nDo you ever get the toe-tingling feeling that a mystery is about to unfold? Meet Montgomery Bonbon (aka Bonnie Montgomery) the world’s greatest ten-year-old secret super sleuth! \nLaunching in time for February half-term\, the trail will run from 11 February until 31 March 2023. Over 50 museums across the UK will be taking part and encouraging families to explore their local museum. Grab an activity sheet at Kirkleatham Museum and test out your detective skills\, solve puzzles and have fun! DESCRIPTION:Redcar Illumination Parade 2021\n				\n			\n				\n			\n				\n				Redcar Light Switch On\n				\n			\n				\n			\n				\n				Redcar Illumination Parade 2021\n				\n		\n\n  \nThe magical season of Christmas kicks off in spectacular style in Redcar Town Centre and we hope you will join us in what will be an evening of stunning visual displays\, performance\, music\, lights\, and all-around joy! \nFollowing on from last year’s Illumination Parade\, we are bringing a creative spectacle to the town of Redcar with representatives from schools and community groups throughout the borough as we Deck the Shores! \nOver 200 participants will throng the streets with artwork created with professional artists\, including lanterns costumes and exciting visual spectacles that will light up the route from the Civic Centre to Redcar Town Clock. \nThe parade will also be decked with professional performers\, with the sights\, sounds and smells of everything festive whilst being entertained by outstanding musical artists Sisi as well as Groove Inc for a little bit of soul\, funk\, and Christmas classics\, supported by the emerging talents of Tuned In’s young people. \nThe ‘Deck the Shores’ Illumination Parade will begin at 4pm from the Civic Centre\, so wrap up warm and follow the crowds on a truly inspiring route of party. \nAnd if that wasn’t enough\, the big button will be pressed by Three Redcar Christmas Stars – three community champions nominated by you for their acts of kindness over the past year – along with the Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland. \n
