It’s a family event and a great tradition at Christmas. Everyone can sing a carol\, whether you think you are musical or not! \nPeople see other people singing and think they can’t do it. But community singing\, whether in pubs or churches\, shanties on ships or for sport\, has been around for hundreds of years and allows everyone to take part. \nCarols have a way of getting people into the Christmas spirit and singing together in the centre of town only enhances that. Your completed snowflake will measure approximately 12 cm diameter and will look fabulous hung in front of a window to catch the light or equally as fabulous adorning your tree. All materials are provided. The perfect gift to yourself or someone special. All you have to do is leave it with us to pop into the kiln so you can collect the following week. DESCRIPTION:Britains most adventurous orchestra\, the acclaimed Manchester Camerata will be performing at Freebrough Academy on Tues 6 December 2022. \nMusicians from the Camerata have been working with some fantastic young people from three schools and a youth group* from across Redcar and Cleveland\, and together have co-created some brand new pieces of music inspired by what these young people love about where they live. \nLed by Camerata composer​ Kate Pearson\, the groups have been meeting regularly throughout the Autumn\, and will be performing their new music for the first time at a concert on Tuesday 6 December\, at Freebrough Academy…! \nAs well as the premiere of this brand-new composition\, a 13-piece Orchestra from Manchester Camerata will be playing a selection of Film\, Classical and Popular music\, and will be joined for one piece by the wonderful Tees Valley Youth Orchestra. \nJoin us for this fantastic coming together of the local community​\, celebrating the wonderful Teesside area. \n Our Music\, Our Way is co-produced by Orchestras Live\, Redcar & Cleveland Council and Tees Valley Music Service

DESCRIPTION:Christmas has arrived at Kirkleatham Museum with a whole host of festive events and activities to help you celebrate a Georgian Christmas. \nCommunity Stepping Stones CIC will be providing us with a traditional Georgian Christmas table display. The theme will continue throughout the museum\, grounds\, and trails. \nFather Christmas will also be here with his elves and reindeers throughout the weekend and Kirkleatham Owl Centre will be introducing some of the feathered friends. \nYou can create your own Georgian inspired decorations with artist Jane Riley\, bringing the mystery and romance of one of the most traditional decorations to your home this Christmas along with other arts and crafts. \nA range of stalls bringing a variety of goods can be found within the pavilion as well as around the museum grounds. \nIndoor and outdoor trails will take place along with a Christmas makeover of our Domestic Bliss exhibition. \nSmall charges apply for some activities. \nAdditional parking can be found at Kirkleatham Walled Garden. \nWalking directions from Kirkleatham Walled Garden to Kirkleatham Museum ‘A Georgian Christmas’ (3mins) \n  \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Redcar Illumination Parade 2021\n				\n			\n				\n			\n				\n				Redcar Light Switch On\n				\n			\n				\n			\n				\n				Redcar Illumination Parade 2021\n				\n		\n\n  \nThe magical season of Christmas kicks off in spectacular style in Redcar Town Centre and we hope you will join us in what will be an evening of stunning visual displays\, performance\, music\, lights\, and all-around joy! \nFollowing on from last year’s Illumination Parade\, we are bringing a creative spectacle to the town of Redcar with representatives from schools and community groups throughout the borough as we Deck the Shores! \nOver 200 participants will throng the streets with artwork created with professional artists\, including lanterns costumes and exciting visual spectacles that will light up the route from the Civic Centre to Redcar Town Clock. \nThe parade will also be decked with professional performers\, with the sights\, sounds and smells of everything festive whilst being entertained by outstanding musical artists Sisi as well as Groove Inc for a little bit of soul\, funk\, and Christmas classics\, supported by the emerging talents of Tuned In’s young people. \nThe ‘Deck the Shores’ Illumination Parade will begin at 4pm from the Civic Centre\, so wrap up warm and follow the crowds on a truly inspiring route of party. \nAnd if that wasn’t enough\, the big button will be pressed by Three Redcar Christmas Stars – three community champions nominated by you for their acts of kindness over the past year – along with the Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland. \n

DESCRIPTION:  \nGet into the festive spirit with Christmas lights\, decorations\, and seasonal treats at Ormesby Hall. \nThe scene is set for one and all for a panto themed Christmas at Ormesby Hall. The rooms will be adorned with sparkling lights\, pantomime inspired decorations and the fresh sweet smell of winter foliage from the garden. \nFrom the moment you arrive you will enter a theatrical atmosphere in the house\, from bright colours\, greenery and of course Christmas trees and decorations from some of the most beloved pantomimes\, such as Peter Pan and Snow White. \nAn admission ticket for the house and garden is needed to visit and enjoy this activity\, with free admission for National Trust members and under 5s. \n Fridays – Mondays from the 25th November and also Tuesday 20\, Wednesday 21 & Thursday 22 December.
