At Saltburn, dogs are excluded from the beach area to the left of the Pier up to the point of access to the beach at Hazelgrove, during the visitor season (1 May-30 September) in any year.

Dogs are welcome to be walked on a lead along the promenade including outside the visitor season when these exclusions apply.

The council allows access to this part of the beach, including during the visitor season when the Saltburn dog on beach exclusion zone exclusion is in operation, to blind persons and disabled persons who rely on their highly trained assistance dog, in compliance with the Equality Act 2010.

The council’s expectations of exempted persons accessing the beach are as follows:

As emotional support or therapy dogs are not referenced in law, no exemptions are in place for these dogs.
