Redcar Kite Festival

Redcar Kite Festival
25th and 26th May 2024 11am - 5pm, Majuba Beach Redcar

Welcome to Redcar Kite Festival, a new and exciting family friendly festival that will see the skies above Majuba Beach come alive with colour and spectacle as we welcome breathtaking kites from around the world, brought to Redcar for the first time by our partner Northern Kite Group.

Redcar Kite Festival will be celebrating Redcar's natural environment and wide-open spaces, as internationally renowned kite experts from Northern Kite Group take to the skies providing spectacular displays, choreographed flying routines and epic soring stunt shows.

Whilst the amazing kites will be the highlight of the event, you can also get creative with one of our free workshops, join nationally renowned land artist James Brunt to create brilliant beach art using natural resources and found objects, make a wonderful windmill with local artist Adele Catchpole, pop over to the beginner’s beach corner to perfect your kite flying skills or even join Infinite Arts as you create your very own kite to take to the sky.

Redcar Kite Festival will also see the launch of The High-Flying Market, new artisan food and beverage market which will feature a range of local and regional traders, as well as live music, performances and street theatre as part of the event programme.

And what's more head over to the Boating Lake for even more exciting activities with Yorkshire Fossil Festival for an extraordinary exploration of art, science, heritage, and live entertainment that both budding palaeontologists and rock legends alike will enjoy.

Further programme and workshop information will be announced soon!
