Park & Ride and Public Transport

Park & Ride and Public Transport

We’re expecting Redcar Town Centre to be very busy so we will be running a park & ride scheme operating from Kirkleatham Show Field (just on the outskirts of town) dropping off in the heart of the festival. Buses will run from 11.45am to 6.30pm in a constant loop between Kirkleatham and Majuba Road.

Returns fares:

Adult - £3.00

Under 16's - £1.00

Under 3 - Free

Tickets must be purchased from the ticket desk (located in the Show Field), before boarding the bus. Tickets can be purchased by cash and card payments.

While the buses are coaches, wheelchair and access provisions are in place with ramp access. Please be aware, that only assistance or guide dogs are allowed on the coaches. Prams must be folded.

If you would rather leave the car at home, Redcar is well served by public transport.

Redcar Central train station is approximately 8 minutes walk to the Kite Festival site with direct trains running between Darlington and Saltburn (Northern Rail) and from Manchester (Transpennine Express).

Arriva buses to Redcar include X2/3 from Lingdale, X4/4A from Whitby to Middlesbrough, 64 Middlesbrough to Grangetown and 81 Guisborough to Marske.

Teesside International Airport is our closest airport whilst Newcastle International Airport is the regions largest airport.
