It\u2019s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Redcar and Cleveland!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Christmas is a magical time of the year and as we head towards the month of mulled wine, mistletoe and memory-making, here\u2019s what you can expect to see in the towns of Redcar and Cleveland\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n

Redcar Lights Switch <\/a> – Sunday 23rd November, 12pm – 5pm<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Sponsored by Everyone Active and CR Reynolds, the lights will be switched on at 5pm by our community champion 11-year-old Spencer but the fun starts at 12noon with walkabout characters, children\u2019s rides and a street food and drink market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\ud83c\udf85\"Arriva North East<\/a> are bringing their Christmas bus along \u2013 with a very special passenger! Hop on board to meet Santa and enjoy some free festive crafts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\u2744\"Darlington Building Society<\/a> are our sponsors for the Giant Snow Globe. Climb inside and be part of a magical Christmas scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\ud83c\udfc3\u200d\u2640\ufe0f\"Everyone Active<\/a>‘s Redcar Leisure Centre<\/a> will be on site keeping you warm and active with fun interactive games and strength tests. They will also be running prize draws for everyone, with chances to win memberships, family swim vouchers, guest passes and much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Festive Fun at Ormesby Hall<\/h3>\n\n\n

Festive Evenings at Ormesby Hall – Friday 5th & 12th December, 5pm – 8pm<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Experience a winter’s evening at Ormesby Hall with festive music, food and drink stalls to enjoy by the fire pit, as well as a chance to see the house decorated for Christmas at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note the garden will be closed and the house and caf\u00e9 close at 7.30pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Normal admission applies to access this event and no pre-booking is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Fairytale Christmas at Ormesby Hall – Several dates Between November 28th – December 22nd, 10.30am – 4pm<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The rooms of Ormesby Hall are adorned with sparkling lights and fantastical decorations for your very own fairytale adventure! Venture into the Snow Queen’s realm, dress for Cinderella’s ball, make a Christmas wish with a genie and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decorated hall is open every Friday – Monday, from Friday 28th November until Monday 22nd December, 10.30am – 4pm, with last entry to the house and caf\u00e9 closure at 3pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saltburn Christmas Parade and Light Switch On<\/a> – 29th November, 2.30pm – 5.30pm<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Kick off the festive season in style as Saltburn lights up with its Christmas lights launch. This magical event promises fun for the whole family, with crafts, a parade, and, of course, Santa himself!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festivities begin with elves in the library<\/a> from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm, helping Saltburn get ready for Christmas with fun Christmas crafts for all to enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The excitement builds as the parade, featuring Santa, departs from Saltburn Fire Station at 5:00 pm and makes its way to the Station Portico for the official lights switch-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saltburn Ice Trail<\/a> – Saturday 13th December, 10am – 4pm<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Renowned ice sculptors Sand In Your Eye<\/a> are back to create eleven amazing ice sculptures based on the theme an arctic safari, creating a wonderful one day trail for families to explore. Be on the look out for a Snowy Owl, a Walrus, an Arctic Fox and many other creatures, all carved by hand!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collect your Ice Trail sheet on the morning from Saltburn Library, Brockley Hall Hotel, Chocolini’s or Creation Saltburn and follow the trail for your chance to win a fabulous gift package donated by local businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On your way around the trail, why not visit the free-to-enter Pocket Money & Stocking Filler Market at Saltburn Community & Arts Association? Grab some affordable last minute gifts made by many amazing makers and designers, warm up with a hot chocolate or mulled wine or let the little ones enjoy some free crafts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stop by Saltburn Library where the elves will help you write your letter to Santa and post it into the Ice Post Box. The Tees Women Poets will be joining in on the fun in the guise of arctic fox-women to help you co-author a little winter poem on a vintage typewriter!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join Everyone Active and Saltburn Leisure Centre for games, challenges and giveaways, and enjoy festive story telling with The Winter Enchantress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be live music from Marske Brass Band at the Band Stand, walkabout characters parading around the town and if that wasn\u2019t enough to tempt you along, don\u2019t forget it\u2019s Saltburn Farmers’ Market’s Christmas Special on the day too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guisborough Christmas Parade<\/a> – Tuesday 2nd December, 4pm<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Come and enjoy this festive family event, which includes a Santa\u2019s Parade with reindeer, lots of community group involvement, children\u2019s entertainers, children\u2019s rides, musical performances and a Santa\u2019s grotto in Sunnyfield House. Many shops, cafes and restaurants open for the extended evening too.

Marske Christmas Festival & Parade<\/a> – Thursday 4th December, 3pm \u2013 8.30pm<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Once again Marske Community Partnership are organising their annual Christmas festival. This event brings out the spirit of Christmas in everyone throughout Marske.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pipers will be leading the parade and Santa will be at the back setting off at 6pm from Errington School. It will go down Windy Hill Lane around the roundabout and along Redcar Road finishing in the grounds of Marske Hall. If you want to see the Parade, you need to line this route so get there early!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Santa will be in his Grotto in The White House on Redcar Road 3.30pm till 5:30pm and 6:30pm till approx. 8.30pm. There will be a fantastic craft fair in Marske Leisure Centre from 3.30pm until 7:30pm where you will be able to get hot food, drinks, and mulled wine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loftus Poultry Run<\/a> – Sunday 21st December, 11am<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The run (which involves humans, not chickens!) has been held just before Christmas for over 38 years. A multi-terrain event approx. 7 miles along country lanes, bridleways and footpaths, it has built a reputation as one of the friendliest and most fun events on the North East racing calendar with costumes, a brass band and lots of camaraderie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who knows, with some generous prizes of Christmas fayre – including the eponymous poultry – it could be a handy way to stock your larder!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boxing Day Dip<\/a> – 26th December, 11am<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Boxing Day Dip is back for 2025 when the brave face the freezing North Sea! Whether you\u2019re there purely for the fresh air, fancy dress or to raise money for a good cause, it\u2019s a great morning out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
