Three main areas arose from this consultation, to;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>offer first-time orchestral experiences for families and young children&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>support local schools to ensure high-quality music provision&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>work within care settings to support the health and wellbeing of older people&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By working with our communities to explore their place and heritage through music, Our Music, Our Way will provide inspiring music-making opportunities for all ages.\u202f&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022, we delivered a pilot programme which saw three different projects engage with 330 people of all ages. Both younger people and older people in care settings worked alongside Manchester Camerata to create lyrics and music together inspired by what they love about where they live and the royal jubilee. Five new pieces were created and performed live with participants, Tees Valley Youth Orchestra, members of Guisborough Choral Society and professionals at concerts. This is one of the best projects I have been involved in as a teacher and Music Lead for over 20 years.\u201d<\/em>&nbsp; &#8211; Redcar And Cleveland Primary School Teacher&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;It was good to have a concert in our neighbourhood and to see local young people performing alongside professionals. We hope that there is more to come &#8220;<\/em>&nbsp; &#8211;&nbsp; Audience Member&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe residents absolutely loved being part of this project.\u202f We\u2019re making a huge fuss over the Jubilee and pulling out all the stops to celebrate so to be asked to help with this amazing piece of music was fantastic.\u201d Care Home Manager<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Upcoming Events:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our Music, Our Way \u2013 Royal Northern Sinfonia Performance \u2013 Wed 13<sup>th<\/sup> March, Kirkleatham Walled Garden<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our Music, Our Way<\/strong>, is a thrilling concert from the acclaimed Royal Northern Sinfonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The concert puts the community of Redcar and Cleveland at the heart of the music.\u202f\u202f\u202fBe prepared for the Royal Northern Sinfonia to take you on a captivating musical journey, including two exciting new premiers of music written by young people and composer Michael Betteridge.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between January &amp; March 2024, musicians from the acclaimed Royal Northern Sinfonia will be working with fantastic young people from three schools across Redcar and Cleveland to co- create brand new pieces of music. Working with composer Michael Betteridge, young people will explore their sense of place and identity to inspire their music making. .&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These new pieces of music will be performed by the young people and RNS, side by side, as part of the full concert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s set to be an incredible performance which celebrates the creativity of the wonderful community of Redcar and Cleveland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Refreshments will be \u200bavailable to purchase from 6pm until 6.30pm, and during the interval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kirkleatham Walled Garden is a fully accessible venue, but wheelchair spaces need to be booked.
