The races for men and women will once again be a part of this year’s British Cycling Open National Road Series! Starting and finishing in Saltburn (near the bandstand), the circuit will also include Skelton, Guisborough, Charltons, Boosbeck, Lingdale and Brotton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women\u2019s Road Race<\/strong>
Start – 9.00am, finish – 11.30am
Open Road Race<\/strong>
Start – 1.15pm, finish 5pm
*All times based on fastest schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Road Closures<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A rolling road closure will be enforced on the race route. This means roads on route will be closed to traffic by Police Escort Vehicles. Closures are in place for a short period (usually around 15 minutes) to allow the race to pass safely. Glenside will be closed between the junction of Windsor Terrace and the junction of Albion Terrace to all unauthorised vehicle traffic from 06:00 hours on Sunday 12th April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


No Parking<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The route is marked with yellow advanced warning signs in the run up to the East Cleveland Classic. Please don\u2019t park on the route on the day: if necessary, vehicles may have to be removed.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caution<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Please keep children back from the edge of the road and animals on a lead, away from the roadside. Riders pass by very fast, and while we encourage support, please keep flags, objects and photography equipment out of the road. Remember, taking selfies is fun, but turning your back on the race is never a good idea. Please face the oncoming riders and race convoy at all times.

Police<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The East Cleveland Classic is escorted along the route by trained police officers and escort motorcyclists. If you are asked to stop by an officer, please listen carefully and obey their instructions.

Top Tips for Spectators<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  • Take note of the stage route, road closures and race timings that may affect you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Grab a safe spectator spot early and enjoy the build up to the peloton arriving. If you cant get to a start or finish location, check out the points of interest on the route.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Do not obstruct the riders in any way. Keep children and animals back from the roadside.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
