{"id":17621,"date":"2023-10-20T12:18:09","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T11:18:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/redcarcleveland.co.uk\/enjoy\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=17621"},"modified":"2023-10-20T12:18:09","modified_gmt":"2023-10-20T11:18:09","slug":"a-wild-ride-by-garth-bayley","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/redcarcleveland.co.uk\/enjoy\/event\/a-wild-ride-by-garth-bayley\/","title":{"rendered":"A Wild Ride by Garth Bayley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You\u2019re invited to the next exhibition at The Heritage Gallery at Cargo Fleet: <em>A Wild Ride<\/em> by Garth Bayley.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition will be open with free admission, Monday \u2013 Friday, 8.30am \u2013 4.45pm, with an opening evening from 5pm \u2013 7pm on Thursday 19th October.<\/p>\n<p>The opening offers a great opportunity to meet Garth over drinks &amp; nibbles and ask any questions about the work on display.<\/p>\n<p>Garth arrived in the United Kingdom 15 years ago with his suitcase and a taste for adventure. The change from leaving South Africa and his previous career as a chef to become an international selling artist has not been without challenge.<\/p>\n<p>Garth\u2019s love for people, colour and movement is the foundation of his practice. His work originated in the subject of dance and he is still inspired by this.\u00a0He recently had the opportunity to observe and sketch Northern Ballet (based in Leeds) during rehearsals for an upcoming show. These sketches will soon lead to a new series of paintings.<\/p>\n<p>Garth has documented several cycling races for a number of years now and his \u201cpainting a day\u201d approach to following races such as the Tour de France, the\u00a0Giro d&#8217;Italia\u00a0and our own Tours of Britain and Yorkshire has led to comprehensive body of work that collectors have snapped up from across the world.<\/p>\n<p>A third form of movement expressed in his painting comes from animals, most frequently horses and horseracing. Inspiration drawn from the everyday completes the repertoire and transforms more static items such as buildings and the world around us into landscapes that capture a moment in time with evocative colour and movement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You\u2019re invited to the next exhibition at The Heritage Gallery at Cargo Fleet: A Wild Ride by Garth Bayley.
