Our borough

Redcar and Cleveland is the southernmost borough in the north east of England.

Geographically, it is the largest borough within the Tees Valley, covering approximately 96 square miles. The population is just over 135,000 living within a total of 63,000 households in numerous towns and villages; spanning coastal communities from Redcar to Boulby Cliffs and taking in East Cleveland. Normanby, Ormesby, Nunthorpe, Eston, South Bank, Grangetown, Teesville and Lazenby comprise the built-up urban area, referred to as Greater Eston. Eston Redcar, Dormanstown, Kirkleatham, Marske and Saltburn make up the coastal area, enjoying the benefits a seaside location offers. Saltburn Housing To the south of are the rural settlements of Guisborough, Brotton, Skelton, Loftus, New Marske and many smaller villages. Guisborough Coastal, urban and rural – not many boroughs can boast this mix of residential choice.
