ARCHIVE - 'What makes Redcar and Cleveland unique' competition - summer 2019

We had a fantastic response to our first Redcar | Cleveland place photography competition, with close to 250 entries submitted!

The entries covered everything that we hoped we'd get - really covering the competition brief of - ‘what makes Redcar and Cleveland unique’ – what makes us stand out from the crowd and be distinctive? It was very difficult choosing a winner, but a small team, led by the Chair of Redcar | Cleveland Place Board, Frans Calje, managed to pick out one entry that edged it. Dave Cocks took a glorious photo of Saltburn beach and pier at sunset (below) - such beautiful, warm colours. Dave won a fantastic prize - an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast for 2 guests at Gisborough Hall, and he's pictured below collecting his prize from Gisborough Hall Hotel Manager, Ruairidh Taylor; with Place Marketing Manager, Richard Baker.     We narrowed down the entries into a group of ten finalists, the remaining nine are shown below -                          We intend to use many of the images that were submitted in future promotions showcasing Redcar and Cleveland as a great place to live, enjoy and do business. Thank you again to all those people who took the time to enter the competition!
