27 July 2023 – Launch of ‘Redcar | Cleveland’ Place video, The Regent

This Ambassador event was very special – The Regent cinema hosted the launch of the new Redcar | Cleveland place video!

Around 60 ambassadors gathered at The Regent, and were handed a special event ticket on arrival. Breakfast networking then took place, with many attendees choosing to gather on the outside terrace area, with stunning views out to sea.

To begin the formalities, as host, General Manager of The Regent, Chris Collier welcomed attendees to the wonderful venue, which is a real asset to our place. Then Place Board member Bianca Robinson welcomed attendees to the event and spoke about how proud she is to call Redcar and Cleveland home, both personally and as the base for CEO Sleepout, of which Bianca is CEO. Finally, Lou Tonner, Chief Operating Officer at Wander Films spoke about their work on the video and how much the project meant to the team, as many have close connections to Redcar and Cleveland.

Ambassadors then moved into Screen 3 in the cinema in two groups to watch the video; and tucked into popcorn presented in special place branded cups! We heard some fantastic feedback on the video after people watched it on the big screen! To complete the formalities, Dr. Angela Brockbank, Chair of Redcar | Cleveland Place Board gave the closing remarks and thanked ambassadors for attending.

Richard Baker, Place Marketing Manager said, “The short film features our beautiful ‘surf and turf’ environment – the sea, beaches and coastline, and our glorious countryside. It also spotlights our assets and attractions, from the ‘Land of Iron’ Museum at Skinningrove, to the new adventure golf at Coatham, Redcar, and lots in between! We love the video, we hope everyone does too! We couldn’t have picked a better location to hold this event, than the fantastic ‘The Regent’ cinema!”
