Ambassador Spotlights: The ‘Feel Amazing’ Therapist

We caught up with Ruth Smith from ‘The Feel Amazing Therapist’, a confidence, mindset and mental wellbeing therapist working with individuals and business owners to help them reset their mind maze into an ‘amazing’ mindset.

Can you tell me what your organisation does?

My business (The ‘Feel Amazing’ Therapist) was born out of COVID, I have multiple sclerosis and due to the medication, I was told to ‘shield’. During this time, I was working from home and unable to leave the house, which really affected my mental health, so I started working with a life coach online that completely changed my life. From my positive experience, I decided I wanted to take on two years of training, and I became a confidence, mindset, and mental wellbeing therapist.

My business is multifaceted, I offer one-on-one life coaching and therapy, along with workshops to improve mindset, confidence, and setting both personal and business goals. Within these sessions I incorporate therapies to clear past traumas/events as these can prevent clients from moving forward, and as my business name suggests, I always ensure clients leave feeling amazing!

I can also remove fear and phobias, after one session clients have been on flights, attended dentist appointments, and been able to put spiders outside to avoid waking family members up to get rid of them! As well as this, I am able to alleviate any old pain, such as arthritis, ME symptoms and more using a therapy called ‘old pain to go’.

To compliment my business, I am also a reiki practitioner, offering a range of services from energy healing to an all-encompassing mind body and soul package, which improves mindset, confidence and energy healing in a calming and tranquil setting.

Can you tell me the best thing about your organisation?

The best thing is seeing the changes in my clients. All the sessions are person-centred and to be told I have changed someone’s life makes all the hard work worth it. As I had a life coach myself, I know just how important therapy is, it can completely change your outlook on life, can drive you to be the best you can be, and can help you get out of hard times. Anybody can get therapy, it is very comforting being the place that people can turn to to better themselves, it truly changes lives.

What is the proudest achievement in your career?

On a personal note, I am very proud of myself for completing 2 years of training, and I am now, amongst several other therapists, a ‘Master Neuro Linguistic Practitioner’ (NLP) with a level 3 counselling diploma.

On a business note, a client came to see me through their wellness at work scheme, he had previously received counselling which had not been productive and his manager suggested he could have an appointment with me.

After nine sessions he had cleared many traumas from his past and gained new skills which gave him the confidence to drive, go to different places and be comfortable around people. He could not thank me enough; I was so proud that he trusted me to open up about his past which enabled me to give him the tools to move forwards.

What are you looking forward to in the next 12 months?

I am looking forward to helping more people with their mental health, seeing more people grow, whether that is through seeing clients on a one-to-one basis, workplace wellness sessions, group workshops or energy healing. The future is exciting, and I can’t wait to see what it has in store for me.

What would you say is the best thing about Redcar and Cleveland?

I live in Marske-by-the-sea and love sea swimming so the fact I can walk to the beach is a big plus.  The views we have are outstanding, it is such a wonderful place to live, anyone who says its grim up North has clearly never visited Redcar and Cleveland!
