24 March 2021 – ‘Investing in our bright future’ virtual event

We have a real ‘ENERGY FOR INDUSTRY’ in Redcar and Cleveland and our 3rd online Ambassador event put the spotlight on over £1 billion worth of investment in the pipeline for our place.

It’s such an exciting time for Redcar and Cleveland, and at this event we heard from some leading figures in organisations who are ‘investing in our bright future’.

Our speakers were:

Matt Parsons – General Manager External Affairs – ANGLO AMERICAN – Matt spoke about the exciting Woodsmith Mine project, and the positive impact it will have on Redcar and Cleveland.

Andrew Carter – Assistant Director Growth & Enterprise – REDCAR & CLEVELAND BOROUGH COUNCIL – Andrew gave an overview of the 98 projects that the Council are working on as part of the Area Growth Plans, including Loftus Future High Street Fund, Redcar Town Deal and new Regent Cinema.

Sean Donkin – Managing Director, THE INN COLLECTION GROUP – Sean spoke about the regional focus that The Inn Collection Group are working to, their expansion plans and importantly their plans for a new 42-bed hotel and restaurant at Coatham in Redcar.

John McNicholas – Capital Programme Director – TEESWORKS – John gave an overview of the progress and plans for Teesworks – the UK’s largest industrial zone, and outlined the benefits of the Teesside Freeport – the largest freeport in the UK.
