Filming in Redcar and Cleveland

With stunning coastline, beautiful countryside and an array of interesting attractions, Redcar and Cleveland is quickly becoming the go to filming location for film, tv and various other productions.

Below you will find everything you need to know about filming in Redcar and Cleveland –

Permission

Permission is needed to film or take professional photography within Redcar and Cleveland whether it be land owned by the council or privately owned land.

We will advise on land ownership on receipt of your application, if the land you wish to use is private, it will be your responsibility to seek the landowner’s permission.

How to apply and required documentation

There is no charge to apply for permission to film or capture professional photography within Redcar and Cleveland, although depending on the needs of the production other charges maybe applicable, we will advise on receipt of your application if charges would apply.

To apply for permission you will need to complete the online application form, which can be found here.

You will also need to provide evidence of public liability insurance – minimum of £5 million and all risk assessments associated to your request.

We aim to process requests within ten working days, depending on the need and complexities of your production at times this may take a little longer.

Please note requests can no longer be accepted via email; they can only be submitted via the online application form.
