Our site is almost entirely paved, allowing full access to wheelchair users. Our beach activity is also accessible with the Council’s three new beach wheelchairs.
Two Hippocampes and one Debug wheelchair are available along with a hoist to facilitate people’s transfer onto them. They can be hired free of charge from the Northern Renewable Centre. 39-41 Esplanade, Redcar TS10 3AG. Call 07729 751561 to book. They can be used by both children and adults.
All of our main walk-ways are step-free, or have step-free access to ensure that all of our visitors have the same experience.The site is quite large, so we would recommend using a walking-aid if you usually would. Information around Redcar’s Shop Mobility scheme can be found here at DC Mobility. We have a large amount of seating dotted around the Town Centre site to ensure that there are spaces available to everyone to sit and rest.
There is a fully accessible Changing Places toilet at Tuned In!
At our Kirkleatham site, there are picnic benches close to the Luminarium. Accessible toilets will also be available. When the museum is open, visitors to Luminarium are welcome to use the accessible toilet on the located on the ground floor of the museum. There is no emergency cord. This toilet is not RADAR key operated.
Much of our programme is BSL interpreted or highly visual and therefore accessible to d/Deaf and HOH audiences, as well as non-English speakers. Individual BSL interpretation can be found on the individual show information.
PA/Carer tickets are free for visits to the Luminarium and Big Little Gigs.
Much of our programme of outdoor theatre, performances and creative activity is relaxed, owing to the fact that it is specifically performed for the outdoors.If you require a quiet space, or a space away from crowds, please ask any of our festival staff and we’ll be happy to assist
There are baby changing facilities at TunedIn and the Library as well as many cafes & restaurants in Redcar. At Kirkleatham, baby changing facilities are located in the accessible toilet in the Pavilion–please ask a member of staff if you need access to this. Alternatively, baby changing facilities are available in the male, female and disabled toilets located near the onsite café. Look out for venues with Breastfeeding Welcome signs across the town. These include TunedIn, the Library and Kirkleatham Museum & Café as well as many cafes & restaurants in the town centre.
