We're committed to making Between the Tides as accessible as possible for everyone. 

The Festival is spread across the grounds of Kirkleatham Walled Garden, Toasting Gate field, woodland and Kirkleatham Museum.  It is a large site but we have plenty of seating along the route.

Information Point

The Information Point is in a wooden hut next to the Museum in the Orange Zone.   Here you can ask our friendly staff any questions and find Large Print copies of the Programme.  You can also collect sensory aids here. 

Relaxed Hour

The first hour of each day 10-11am is a Relaxed Hour during which everything is a little quieter, less busy and offers a calmer chance to explore our workshops and activities. 

During this hour we have BSL interpretation on our stage area.  

Wheelchair access

All the site apart from some of the woodland area in the Green Zone is accessible for wheelchair users. 

Autism Support Allies Safe Space

Autism Support Allies are creating a Safe Space in The Bothy at Kirkleatham Walled Garden.   

Open to anyone who needs a quieter moment, whether you’re autistic, have ADHD, anxiety, sensory differences, or you’re simply feeling overwhelmed, this is a space for you.   No diagnosis required.  No judgement.  Just understanding, acceptance and a place to reset before enjoying the festival again.  Because inclusion isn’t just inviting everyone… it’s making sure everyone can stay.

Accessible Viewing Areas

Our shows will all have accessible viewing areas.  There will be a member of staff available to help at the start of each show.

2.45-3.15pm Story telling with Plim and Sole – Green Zone (Woodland area between Museum & Playground)

4.15-4.45pm Spell Casters – Yellow Zone (in front of Owl Centre)

Touch Tours

Go Grandad Go offer Touch Tours for people who are visually impaired. 

Shuttle Buses

Accessible shuttle buses will be running regularly from the Clock in Redcar High Street to the site.

Toilets

We have women’s, men’s, baby change, accessible, changing places and gender neutral toilets available.

Accessibility at Kirkleatham Museum

Kirkleatham Grounds, Café, Pavilion, and Kirkleatham Walled Garden are all situated on the ground level, with dropped curbs and ramp access to all areas.

Kirkleatham Museum is situated across three floors, with elevator access available to each floor.

Dedicated Disabled Parking is available at Kirkleatham Walled Garden, approx. 10 minutes walking distance from the centre of the Festival Site.
