Brand new toilet block for Guisborough

A new toilet block has been installed on Fountain Street’s parking area in Guisborough, which will greet every tourist that comes to visit the historic town!

The project is almost finished, with tasks such as the re-lining of parking bays, contemporary paving, handrails and even the planting of fresh seasonal flowers still to finish, the end is in sight for this project!

From coach visitors to day-trippers, first impressions of the town will change for the better and will provide a pleasant environment for town locals. £250k from the ‘Welcome To’ pot, supplied by the Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA), has been invested in the project, which aims to boost tourist numbers and increase local trade in the town.

The Council’s Highways Construction team have made a fantastic job of the external improvements, with the cladding and roofing supplied by a local company, Warsett Ltd. The Works Management team have provided the impressive internal fit-out of the toilets themselves.
