Winner announced for ‘What Redcar and Cleveland means to me’ photo competition

We’d like to thank all the people who entered our recent ‘What Redcar and Cleveland means to me’ photography competition – we received some fantastic entries!

The Redcar | Cleveland Place Board had the difficult decision of working through the over 90 entries but have come up with a winner.

First, here’s two entries which pipped the winner close, as ‘runners up’:

  • ‘Gisborough Priory’ by Amy Gallagher
  • ‘Saltburn’ by Kerry Adams

But there can only be one winner, and we’re pleased to announce that Helen Mahoney wins a fantastic prize of dinner, bed and breakfast at Gisborough Hall Hotel, for her wonderful photograph taken at Redcar’s Esplanade.

Helen’s winning photo is shown below, alongside a picture of Helen receiving her prize from Gisborough Hall Hotel Manager, Ruairidh Taylor; and Place Marketing Manager, Richard Baker.

Place Marketing Manager, Richard Baker said “We received a lot of great entries into this photography competition, and it seems that the competition theme of ‘What Redcar and Cleveland means to me’ has really stirred some local pride!

The Place Board had a really difficult job of deciding on a winner, and I’d like to congratulate Helen on a fantastic winning entry. The Board felt that her photo came closest to the competition theme – capturing a moment beautifully of what Redcar and Cleveland means to Helen”.
