Tour de Yorkshire excitement and Christmas events for the family in Friday Five

We’re heading into the weekend with our latest good news round-up…

  1. It was great to see the full reveal this morning of the eight host towns for next year’s Tour de Yorkshire. We already knew about Redcar, of course, but how good is it to be representing the north?!

2. Are you in East Cleveland later on Friday? You can go and enjoy the Loftus Christmas lights switch-on. The fun starts at 4.30pm in the market place. Santa will turn the lights on at 5.30pm and there will be children’s rides, a magician, face painting and much more. Hot food will also be available.

3. Let’s hear it for Ambassadors, Bones of Loftus. They raised over £180 for local causes at their charity day last weekend. It’s great to see such warm community spirit.

4. Tomorrow is the Boundary 500 annual Santa Ride. The event usually draws big crowds and it’s a fantastic sight for children. You can see the provision timings below.

5. Finally, the Christmas Market at Guisborough Forest & Walkway on Sunday sounds wonderful. There will be 35 stalls, music, children’s crafts and a Santa’s grotto. Talk about beautiful surroundings to get into the festive spirit.
