Business achievements

Our local businesses

Let’s start the celebrations on a sweet note with Willow Cake being crowned the Capital of Cake in the North York Moors. The Loftus based company received 1600 votes and rose to victory, which must have been the icing on the cake!

If that’s not enough to fill you up, the Good Food Awards 2020 recognised both Olivers Redcar and Seabreeze. There’s nothing fishy about those achievements!

Caremark is one of the Top Twenty recommended care providers in the North East. How lucky are we to have an amazing provider on our doorstep?

Another brilliant Guisborough business is J’s Gents, who have been accredited by the British Barbers’ Association. Without a doubt, they’re a cut above the rest!

We can’t forget about Cookfellas, who cooked their competition to win a ‘Good Food Award’.

Congratulations to Jon Nesbitt Engineering, who recently celebrated 25 years in business. Happy Silver Anniversary!

ERW Joinery is celebrating 40 years in business, and here’s to many more years!

Coatham Coaches are really going through the gears! last year, amongst other achievements, they invested £1M in new coaches, won 13 new contracts and took on 6 new members of staff – great stuff!

What makes our area so amazing are the people who go above and beyond what is expected of them.

Our incredible industry

It’s been a brilliant 12 months for proud Ambassadors PD Ports. Look at this list of accolades –

Tees Components have also had an amazing year –

Micropore Technologies also has a lot to be proud of, winning first place in both the ‘Pharma’ and ‘Innovative Product’ categories of the IChemE Global Awards. To top it off, an MBE was awarded to CEO Dai Hayward for his contributions to trade and industry.

Congratulations to the Materials Processing Institute’s CEO Chris McDonald, who was a finalist in the North East Business Executive Awards.

ICL Boulby revealed that it’s smashing records for polyhalite mining, with 75,000 tonnes in November.

Last but not least, Redcar Bulk Terminal was a finalist in the ‘Best Specialist Dry Bulk Port or Terminal’ category of the International Bulk Journal Awards 2019.

Massive congratulations to everyone involved: these awards show the vibrant and dynamic world of industry in Redcar and Cleveland. We’re looking forward to many more successes to come as our industry flourishes!
