Education and Learning

Schools and colleges are a brilliant source of ideas and enthusiasm.

We aim to get more young people involved with talking up our brilliant borough. That’s why we’re working with a number of schools and colleges to swap ideas and get excited for the borough’s future!

So far we have:

  • Met with a focus group of students from Redcar & Cleveland College to explain about the Ambassadors project and what we want to achieve.
  • Talked with Prior Pursglove College in Guisborough about bringing the Ambassadors project to their Student’s Union and how we can reach the rest of the student population.
  • Chatted to the children at Newcomen Primary School about why there’s so much to love and talk up in our local area. The children put forward some brilliant ideas – little Ambassadors in the making!
  • Started to get involved with youth centres all through the borough, like Tuned In! in Redcar. Many young people from Tuned In! chose to become enthusiastic Ambassadors.

One thing is for sure: the borough is going to be in very good hands!

It’s been a pleasure to meet the students. Their enthusiasm and pride about our borough really drives home how brilliant the place we live really is.

Are you a student or otherwise involved in education? Your voice matters and it needs to be heard. Join our Ambassador Project to meet other proud people, hear all the latest news about our place and share your opinions. Become an Ambassador today by filling in this quick form.

We would like to engage with more schools and colleges. If you would like your school or college to get involved or join as an Ambassador, send an email to Ambassadors@Redcar-Cleveland.gov.uk.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
