Young Entrepreneurs

Taking the plunge and starting your own business takes plenty of hard work and even more bravery.

Here are some of the inspirational young people who have chosen to start their business in Redcar and Cleveland.

Faith Dunn is the proud owner of Gladrags, a childrenswear boutique in Saltburn, at only 18 years old. She has loved setting up her own business, and felt lots of support and encouragement from the business community. Read the full article here.

“I’d recommend other young people consider it – young people might not be aware of the support and grants that are available – they might think they have to pay for everything themselves, but that’s not always the case.”

Hardworking mum, model and TV actress Laura Pears has opened her own cafe, D'Dee's Cafe in Eston. We're so glad all the hard work is paying off! Check out the full article here for more information about what made this achievement possible.

“We had customers right from day one!"

Hardworking sisters Maisy, 20, and Queenie, 17, are the proud new owners of MaQueens in Redcar's Northern Quarter. It may have been difficult to transform the building, but it looks amazing now!

"We never thought we’d be capable, it was quite a big risk. I’ve absolutely loved it, I didn’t realise how exciting bar work was.”
