Enjoy A Taste of Redcar and Cleveland 28th February – 10th March 2024

For the attention of Redcar and Cleveland restaurants, cafes & bars – ‘A Taste of Redcar and Cleveland’ campaign returns later this month – and it’s a great opportunity to promote your business and attract new customers!

Enjoy a Taste of Redcar and Cleveland is a food and drink campaign designed to showcase the wide range of great food and drink establishments within our borough. The campaign, led by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, was introduced to help support our hospitality businesses by boosting trade, attracting new customers, and keeping the consumers spending pound in Redcar and Cleveland by creating a period of time where consumers can dine out in a more affordable way at a time of the year they may normally not.

The first series of the campaign took place in 2023 and it was reported that an additional £18,000 was spent in participating establishments during the campaign, 64% of business’s agreed that the campaign increased visits from both new and exciting customers and 58.7% agreed that the campaign increased sales for their business.

The next campaign will run from the 28th February until 10th March 2024 a time when businesses have told us is a quieter period and a drive to increase footfall is needed. This period also ensures that we encompass two weekends and two common pay dates.

What do I have to do to take part? Signing up to Enjoy a Taste of Redcar and Cleveland is quick, easy and is completely FREE. It is open to all dine-in hospitality venues (independent bars, cafes, bistros, restaurants, and hotels etc) within Redcar and Cleveland.

All we ask is that your business offers at least one offer/discount throughout the campaign period in line with the set price points of £5, £10, £15, £20, £25 and £30+ which is exclusive to Enjoy a Taste of Redcar and Cleveland and is not something that you regularly offer to your customers. By having the set price points this allows your business flexibility in its offer and means there are a variety of ways you can get involved to suit your business.

Offer options could range from a coffee/cake combo, two main meals or a three-course meal for a set price, drinks packages or simply a set deduction from the final bill and you can offer as many offers as you want to within any of the price points. Offers can be redeemed in a way that suits your business, too.
