We have a broad theme for this competition, it’s ‘what makes Redcar and Cleveland unique’ – so, what makes us stand out from the crowd and be distinctive? It could be Saltburn Cliff Tramway or Pier; South Gare or Gisborough Priory; our industrial heritage; our wonderful beaches; our rolling hills and countryside; our world-leading businesses; our popular events; our fascinating museums; leisure activities in fantastic locations, or it could be anything else that you think tells our unique story about our place. Photography brings a place to life and lets its personality shine. So, another way of looking at things is not about taking that perfect shot of a building or landscape, but to show the place at its vibrant best with people who make the place what it is.
Although a big reason for doing this competition is to showcase, share and promote our wonderful place to the world, through these new images, there is also a fantastic prize to be won! Gisborough Hall have kindly offered an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast for 2 guests, so get those shutters clicking!
Entries are open until Wednesday 18 September. We have extended the closing date to enable people to take and enter some photos of the fantastic Festival of Thrift, which takes place on the weekend of 14/15 September, at Kirkleatham. The Chair of the Redcar | Cleveland Place Board will choose the winner. We intend to use the best images in future promotions showcasing Redcar and Cleveland as a great place to live, enjoy and do business. We look forward to seeing your entries!
