May is #NationalShareaStoryMonth and we are celebrating this with ‘Tales to Take you Away’.
Our first story is about Gerturde Bell – one of Redcar’s most famous locals, who led a much more adventurous life than most Victorian women.
It’s amazing to think that there’s a direct connection between Redcar and the Museum of Iraq. During Museum Week we are proud that we are able to bring you a global view. We would like to give special thanks to Helen Baker for providing us with the illustrations. #togetherMW
If you enjoyed Gertrude Bells tale why not join Peter Sotheran on June 16 for his virtual talk as he delves into the life of Gertrude Bell, a Woman in a Man’s World. Talks are free and login details can be found here.
Don’t forget to visit the full Gertrude Bell exhibition when Kirkleatham Museum opens its doors again.
