A Midsummer Nights Dream

August 12 @ 7:00 pm - 9:20 pm

Award-winning outdoor theatre company, Illyria, bring their fabulous production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Nights Dream to Gisborough Priory on August 12.

The award-winning outdoor theatre company, Illyria, is celebrating its 30th birthday. They are restaging their fantastic production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream to mark this incredible milestone! A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the first Shakespeare play Illyria ever performed. An enduring tale of love and loss, this production promises magic and mischief for all ages. This ever-popular story follows four couples as they navigate the trials of romance, lust – and an enchanted forest. Escape into the great outdoors for the perfect midsummer’s night of entertainment!

Five couples – three human, one fairy, and one mythical – find their relationships tested, probed and indecently exposed when a troupe of amateur theatricals bumble into the forest to rehearse a play. Shakespeare’s masterpiece explores every colour in the spectrum of love. Add to this confusion, magic and mischief – and you have the perfect comedy for a summer evening.

Gates open at 6:00pm with the performance beginning at 7:00pm.

Performance approximately 2 hours 20 minutes (inc 20 interval).
