Welcome to Saabat Gallery

Saabat Gallery, connects art, people and ideas to make the world a better place.
Putting art into action, working with the community to address current issues within politics, economics and culture. Our programmes encompass urgent themes such as housing, migration, inequality, regeneration and healthcare.
Offering changing exhibitions, learning activities, projects, and community-focused initiatives throughout the year that involve many artists and publics, promoting creativity for everyone in ordinary life, through education, debate and making.

War is Everywhere

Saabat Gallery explores humanities relationship with conflict through the exhibition ‘War is Everywhere’ a series of photo collages by the International Kurdish artist Ahmad Nabaz.

Saabat Creative Community Garden

Saabat Gallery Creative Community Garden project launched in October 2021 after receiving funding from the National Lottery Fund, Together Middlesbrough and Cleveland and Sirius Minerals Foundation.

  • Create a Space for gathering
  • Promote a Healthy lifestyle/wellbeing
  • Offer a Therapeutic Gardening
  • Provide an opportunity to develop and gain new skills whilst volunteering

To achieve these aims Saabat Gallery offer a wide variety of activities.

  • Community kitchen
  • Planting vegetable plots and flower beds
  • Performance stage
  • Domestic Repair Shop
  • Recycling Garden waste

This project also runs alongside their Saturday Family Art Trolley, linking art into the garden.

Saturday Family Art Trolley

A new 9 FT long project has started, inspired by landscape of Mooreland. Fusing together children’s imaginations of the fairy tale world with the landscape surrounding the area. Workshops and art sessions will take place in the garden which will encourage families to be creative and learn to work for a better future for our planet. The sessions run from 10am to 2pm every Tuesday and Saturday and are free to join and also include a light snack and drink. Any donations received will support the continuation of the project

Saabat Creativity Warm Space – December 2022 – 30th April 2023

All ages welcome to come and enjoy a warm space to relax, and if you want to join in with one of the creativity activities, free of charge.
