The award-winning Grangetown Training and Employment Hub has reached the milestone of helping 100 Grangetown residents find work.
Unemployed since May this year, 52-year-old Alan Gray’s future looked bleak.
But thanks to the advice and support he received from the Hub, Alan has a new job with Bentall Rowlands assisting the building of the silos at the under-construction MGT Power Plant.

As the 100th successful Grangetown-based job seeker the Hub has helped, Alan is full of praise for the team.
“I felt like moving into the Hub I was there that often!” he said.
“I had loads of support with my CV and training and if it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have this job.”
Alan, a married father-of-five, also has some advice for job seekers: “Just keep trying. Keep trying, even after a knock back and don’t be afraid to ask for help.”
Councillor Bob Norton, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Growth, welcomed the news of Alan’s success. He said: “Congratulations Alan!
“He didn’t give up when faced with a tough problem. He dug in, got the right help and made his own way out of unemployment and into a job.
“I’d also like to congratulate the hardworking team at the Hub. Alan’s success is their success.”
