Redcar Beach Wheelchairs

To book a beach wheelchair please call the Northern Renewable Centre on 07729751561, we recommend booking equipment in advance of your visit to avoid disappointment.

Whether it’s for a day full of traditional bucket and spade fun or a leisurely stroll across our gorgeous stretch of sandy beach, Redcar beach is now accessible to anyone wanting to enjoy our beautiful coastline, with the help of The Beach Wheels Redcar and Cleveland project.

Available to hire FREE of charge are two Hippocampes and one Debug Wheelchairs, with a hoist to facilitate peoples transfer onto the chairs. The beach wheelchairs can be used by both children and adults, allowing families to enjoy quality time together.

To book a beach wheelchair please call 07729751561, we recommend booking in advance of your visit to avoid disappointment. Once booked beach wheelchairs can be collected from the Northern Renewable Centre, 39 – 41 Esplanade, Redcar, TS10 3A and storage is available for your own wheelchair whilst on the beach. Please note that you must be able to transfer yourself, or with assistance from friends and family onto your wheelchair. Further details can be found within the hire terms and conditions.

*The Beach Wheels Redcar and Cleveland project has been a real story of the whole community pulling together. A special thanks to Redcar and Cleveland Voluntary Development Agency, a solution action organisation committed to bring positive change and overcome challenge’s in the communities. Northern Renewable Centre for hosting the wheelchairs and running the hiring process and Route 1 Coffee House and Bike Maintenance Service for upholding the wheelchairs and their condition.
