Family Fun and Halloween Thrills in Redcar and Cleveland!

There’s family fun, autumn adventures, spooktacular scares, Halloween haunts, tricks, treats and so much more in store here at Redcar and Cleveland this October half-term! We’ll be going over it all in this short blog post – there’s sure to be something for you to enjoy!


🧟 Scream Factory – October 27th to October 31st 🧟

The only multi-award winning Halloween scare event in the North East is here to bring your fears to life at Kirkleatham Museum and Grounds. In this linear experience you’ll brave zone after zone of high quality sets, props, costumes, special effects and actors which come together to bring you the scare of a lifetime! There are two different tour types aimed at kids and adults respectively – and if you don’t feel like taking part in the tour, you’re welcome to enjoy the end village facilities including food, bar, firepit music and street actors.

🎃 Guisborough Halloween Reading Trail – October 27th to November 1st 🎃

Head out on a spooktacular adventure as you follow your trail pack from clue to clue across Westgate and Chaloner Street! Pick up your map from Guisborough Library and set off sleuthing until you crack the code, then make your way back to the library to receive a small prize.


🐈‍⬛ Halloween at Ormesby Hall – October 28th to November 2nd

Ormesby Hall has been taken over by ghastly ghouls, creepy crawlies and more for the Halloween season! Will you dare to wander the halls of the spookily decorated house, explore the garden on the outdoor trail, make a mask to blend in with the monsters and enjoy a frightfully delicious treat from the café on this delightful day out?

💀 Halloween Iron Dying Workshop – October 28th 💀

Learn a new skill and enjoy a morning of creepy crafts at Land of Iron! Using Cleveland Fibre Arts’ special potion of glue, gum arabic and locally sourced iron ore powder, you can print a card with a design of your choice to make a spooktacular Halloween card to take home with you.

⛏️ Land of Iron: Mine on the Move – October 30th ⛏️

Land of Iron will be bringing artefacts, documents, photographs and more to Guisborough Town to bring the history of Guisborough to life. Their family history experts will be on hand tracing back the ancestors of the people of Guisborough, or maybe just who used to live in their houses many years ago!


🧙 Book of Spells Trail & Activity Pack – October 30th 🧙

Come along to Kirkleatham for a magical adventure through the woods with their Book of Spells Trail and Activity Pack! Search for missing words to complete the spells, forage for potent potion ingredients, solve puzzles, mini-games and colouring activities and learn magical facts that are beyond belief.

Pick up your pack for £2 at the Kirkleatham Walled Garden’s entrance and head off on your own adventure!


🎶 Spookadelic – November 1st 🎶

Globadelic returns to Lune St Social Club Saltburn for a free evening of bass and groove in the guise of Spookadelic! Globadelic  is joined by DJ Neil H with his crate digger’s trunk of funk, combined with an eclectic mix of bass heavy groovy vibes from across the globe – plus a sprinkle of ghoulish tunes from the Crypt for what’s sure to be a frighteningly fun night to remember!


👻 Halloween Ghost Hunt – Charltons Village Hall – November 1st

Have you ever wanted to be a part of a real ghost hunt? Spirit Seekers offers you the chance of a lifetime to become a paranormal investigator for the night here in Redcar and Cleveland as you explore Charltons Village Hall for Halloween!

Using specialised equipment under the guidance of experienced paranormal investigators, you’ll learn from their knowledge, techniques and experience in hunting for ghosts and spirits. There are two sessions – one for little seekers earlier in the evening (appropriate for ages 8+) and, of course, the full ghost hunting experience for adults or those aged 16+ with adult supervision.
