Industrial Strategy Series – Energy Revolution

The first of a series of events aligned to the UK’s Industrial Strategy which aims to bring together and fund leading research with business to meet the major industrial challenges of our time. The Industrial Strategy is looking to invest £4.7 billion over the next four years into strategic research and innovation projects in the development of local, investable, consumer-centred approaches.
Smart energy systems can significantly improve efficiency by intelligently linking energy supply, storage, use, in addition to heating and transport. For consumers, this will mean cheaper energy with a reduced environmental cost.
This challenge fund will invest £102.5 million in new local energy systems and methods to create prosperous clean energy communities. It will endeavour to meet Government targets for air quality, comply with the carbon budget, while creating high-value jobs in the sector.
The event will:
- Provide further information regarding the industrial strategy challenge
- Demonstrate Teesside University’s track record of project delivery in aligned areas
- Enable networking and develop potential collaborations between partners
