Felix is a partner of Soutien Group and based in Qatar. He is the founder of Aeravela (previously Bureau Katterl) and a co-owner of Business Start Up Qatar, Business Start Up Saudi Arabia and Business Start Up Oman.

Felix has over nine years of experience in market evaluation, strategy development and implementation, business models, financial plans and feasibility studies, corporate structuring and re-structuring as well as company formation in a number of jurisdictions in the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

He guides a team of associates, analysts and administrators on engagements with clients and customers, including start-ups and scale-ups, small businesses, small and medium enterprises and multinational corporations in the State of Qatar and the Middle East.

Ivane Balatbat

International Market Adviser – Export Support Service (Middle East and Pakistan), Department for Business and Trade (DBT)

As part of The Department for Business and Trade’s International Markets Team, Ivane supports UK-based SMEs in their commercial aspirations to Middle Eastern markets, by providing services around diagnosis, desk-based market research and advice, key introductions and referrals on further in-market services.

Ivane is based in Qatar, and has 7 years of experience advising foreign SMEs on how to penetrate and navigate the Qatari business landscape.

Ian Mason

Country Director, Department for Business and Trade (DBT), Doha

Ian joined the Doha team in January 2024 as a Country Director, after 4 years in Bahrain as Head of Chancery. He brings with him a breadth of market knowledge in the Middle East.

His previous postings have included Caracas, Chennai, Lusaka, Buenos Aires, and Phnom Penh. He has also previously served as an International Trade and Investment Adviser in the West Midlands.

Vera Grantham

UK Export Academy Adviser, Department for Business and Trade

Vera has many years of international trade experience working across industry sectors.

Prior to joining the Export Academy team in 2022 she worked as an International Trade Adviser in the North West. And before that Vera was International Trade and Documentation manager at North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce. “
