Managing Director Ben Blackburn is a roofer by trade who took over AAA Roofing from his father Paul Blackburn, who set the business up in 1977 . Prior to Ben taking the reins, the business offer was typical roofing services primarily to the domestic market and operated from a yard in Marske. Today the business employs 16 staff, continues to specialise in roofing and have added building services and a trade counter selling recycled tiles, roofing and building materials to their offer.
The customer base has grown over the years and now alongside the domestic contracts larger commercial clients including Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and Everest Double Glazing are regular repeat customers. Operating from a large industrial unit on Longbeck Trading Estate Ben has sought advice and guidance from the Business Growth Team on marketing, HR and accounting, receiving hands on support to help access funding that was used to purchase their current premises. Ben has also worked closely with the council’s Routes to Employment Team who have supported the business with funding to recruit apprentices.
Ben is very entrepreneurial and is always looking for ways to improve the way the business operates, and for new products and services they can sell.
