Circular should be sustainable: avoiding the trap of false solutions.

7th December 2022 @ 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Excerpt from Eventbrite

“This is a free event open to anyone in the Tees Valley with an interest in sustainability whether that’s from a personal or professional point. Undeniably we are facing global, interconnected challenges: a fragile planet, people under pressure and finite resources…..

…..But circular and regenerative approaches offer ways to respond to these challenges, AND to create healthy, resilient, profitable businesses in a thriving society.

But not all circular solutions are better – we unpick some ‘false solutions’ and help you get a better understanding of how to make the circular economy work for people, planet and prosperity.

4:30pm: Arrival and networking with tea, coffee and light refreshments.

5pm: Talk by Catherine Weetman, author of A Circular Economy Handbook and host of the Circular Economy Podcast – False solutions – why circular isn’t necessarily sustainable, and what we can do about it.

5:20pm Talk by Lianne Bell. Lecturer Enterprise and Innovation at Teesside University International Business School. The concept of the LOT and the sharing economy.

5:40pm: Breakout groups will rotate work on examples provided to develop key questions and decision-making.

6:25pm Short refreshment break

6:30pm Discussion of findings from breakout groups

6:45pm QR code feedback

6:50pm Networking

7pm Finish”
