Get your business ready for CPTPP markets!

May 20 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Excerpt from Department for Business & Trade webpage

“Intrigued to hear more about how the CPTPP agreement can benefit your business, or looking to explore how to sell your products or services to CPTPP members (Australia, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore or Vietnam)?

What you’ll learn

  • what the CPTPP is, along with the benefits for you and your business
  • an overview of the business opportunities with CPTPP member countries
  • how the CPTPP compliments existing UK Free Trade Agreements

Description

With UK exports to current CPTPP members forecast to increase 65% by 2030, this partnership offers huge potential for UK trade with overseas markets. This is thanks to the fact that 99.9% of UK products will be eligible for tariff-free trade, with lower tariffs also secured for other exports, such as whisky and cars. The UK is the first European country to join the CPTPP, after it concluded negotiations on 31 March 2023.

In this session we’ll look at the key sectors of the CPTPP and how you can make the most of its provisions and opportunities to sell your products or services to CPTPP member countries.

We’ll also explore how the agreement compliments existing Free Trade Agreements with CPTPP members, such as Japan, Australia and New Zealand. By joining this partnership, the UK will be at the heart of a dynamic group of countries in an important region for the global economy.
