Guisborough Commercial Grant Scheme
As part of the government’s Levelling Up Fund, £600,000 has been allocated to be spent on shop front improvements in Guisborough, enhancing the town’s heritage and add to the visitor and cultural offer. As a result, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is rolling out a package of support to property owners/businesses in Guisborough, to improve the look and feel of the area and bring buildings back in line with heritage standards.

Zetland Road Heritage Scheme
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is rolling out a package of support to property owners/businesses in Zetland Road, Loftus, to improve the look and feel of the area and bring buildings back in line with heritage standards. This grant scheme is a part of the Loftus Regeneration Masterplan, funded jointly by the Government’s Future High Streets Fund and through Tees Valley Combined Authority’s Indigenous Growth Fund,

‘Routes to Employment’ grant
The ‘Routes to Employment’ grant is a small amount of funding available to support unemployed residents of the borough or those facing redundancy to start their own business.
The grant is designed to support residents in removing barriers to self-employment. To access the grant, a fully developed business plan including financial documents is required, support can be provided to assist in the development of these documents.
The grant can be used to remove various financial barriers and assist in the purchasing of:
- Insurance
- Marketing materials
- Equipment
- Training/Qualifications

Redcar Town Centre Grant Scheme
The Redcar Town Centre Grant Scheme is a part of the Town Centre Transformation project and falls within the wider Redcar Town Deal Programme. Funding from Tees Valley Combined Authority’s IGF High Street Support Fund and Welcome To Fund has been made available to support businesses, enabling them to become part of the Town Centre Transformation process. The scheme is designed to create a more vibrant and viable town centre area in pursuit of further private sector investment, leading to an improved perception of the town, increased footfall, dwell-time and spend.
Above Shops
Through the Above Shops Scheme, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council are offering grants to businesses to bring the upper floors of our town centre back into use for commercial or residential purposes.

- Security (alarms, CCTV, shutters, locking systems)

Award type: Reimbursement grant – agreed projects must be completed and paid in full before receipt of a grant award, pending approval.
