Land of Iron is an independent museum, opened in 1983 by a dedicated team of passionate volunteers. First founded by Tom Leonard, we have striven to maintain his vision of a museum that keeps the history and heritage the mining industry alive.

We would like to collaborate with local businesses big and small, to explore ways that we can support and be supported by our neighbours across the Tees Valley.

Interested in supporting the museum? Join the team on Thursday the 9th of April at 3pm for an opportunity to network with other local business leaders, enjoy a snack and nosecco, and a tour of the mine works.”
